Building with environmental awareness: The new SOLARIS energy saving block

Energy efficiency is considered essential in the construction sector. That this need not be at the expense of design is proven by the SOLARIS energy saving block. It allows for glass block designs that are not only aesthetically appealing, but also heat insulating.

The special technology prevents the translucent material from conduction heat and therefore halves the thermal coefficient value as compared to classic glass blocks, contributing to a positive eco-balance of buildings. The energy efficiency and aesthetic features of SOLARIS energy glass blocks make them ideal for use inside the building as well as for the design of façades.

Light and robust: The new SOLARIS compact glass brick

Solid as a brick, graceful as a glass block – the new SOLARIS compact glass brick combines the characteristics of a robust brick with those of a translucent, radiant glass block. This novelty by WGS Westerwald Glasstein GmbH opens up a new scope of daylight-inspired creativity.

Unlike traditional glass blocks, the new compact glass brick is smaller and can thus be used for even more delicate structures. Used for partitions or interior walls, their solid construction yet allows for daylight to shine through. Given its luminosity, the glass bricks also stand out as a design feature for interiors. Highlighting individual elements, they create an appearance of elegance and lightness.

This special type of glass block is available in Nordic grey, siena, blue and neutral-white, allowing for different atmospheres depending on its application and incidence of light. Given their standardised measurements (24x11, 7x5.3 cm) and their versatile shape, compact glass bricks can be fitted horizontally as well as vertically.
